Spaceflight Series

Playalinda Brewing Company - Brix Project

5220 S Washington Ave |  Titusville, Florida 32780

The spaceflight series incorporates text and imagery into a blending of color to create works inspired by the American space program. From iconic photography to playful text inspired by NASA lore, the artwork in the spaceflight series is a colorful representation and interpretation of early American spaceflight history.

The spaceflight series of paintings were created as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 and the first landing of humans on the moon. The exhibit at Playalinda Brewing is the final public exhibition of the series following showings at breweries in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Playalinda Brewing Co. - Brix Project is located in a renovated former lumberyard in south Titusville, Florida minutes from Kennedy Space Center where Apollo 11 blasted to the heavens 50 years ago. The industrial yet modern facility houses a production and distribution brewery; a full kitchen serving some of the most creative fare on the Space Coast seven days a week; an outdoor Beer Garden; indoor community, private and bar seating.

The Spaceflight series of paintings were first exhibited at Rocket Frog Brewing Co. in Sterling, Virginia. Several years ago an innocent frog was captured by the ignition of a Minotaur V rocket, which launched the LADEE spacecraft from Wallops Island Spaceport in coastal Virginia. The spacecraft was designed in Loudoun County, 2.5 miles from Rocket Frog Brewing Co.

Following the exhibition at Rocket Frog Brewing Co., the paintings were shown at Astro Lab Brewing Co. in Silver Spring, Maryland. Astro Lab is located a few miles from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland and right down the street from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Silver Spring.

The spaceflight exhibit will run through August 2019. Playalinda Brewing Company - Brix Project hours are:

Monday - Wednesday: 4pm-10pm
Thursday: 11:30am-11pm
